Brian began his lending career in the fall of 1993 as a marketing representative for a large finance company. Since then, he has worked as an underwriter, loan officer, and manager at various financial institutions and run his own mortgage brokerage while working his way through college. He received a bachelor’s degree in corporate training from Idaho State University in 2006. 

In May 2008, after two years outside lending, he was offered the opportunity to join Advantage Plus to help expand its real estate lending department. Since then, Brian has worked as a manager, underwriter, and loan officer. After several years of managing the department, he made the decision to leave management and focus solely on originating loans. This decision has allowed him to serve the Credit Union's members more effectively and efficiently.

Brian believes that mortgage lending is built upon solid relationships and delivering on what you promise — he never makes a promise he can’t keep. The members and realtors he works with know that if he says he can do something, he will deliver. Mike’s experience as an underwriter gives him additional insight and expertise, enabling him to spot potential opportunities and identify problems early in the process. He can help members maximize their opportunities in real estate or avoid pitfalls that may not be visible to someone with less experience.

Since joining Advantage Plus, Mike has worked hard to develop relationships with our members and realtors (most of whom are members) throughout Southeast Idaho. His primary focus areas are Bear Lake, Caribou, Franklin, and Bannock counties. If you haven’t had the chance to work together, Mike looks forward to the opportunity!
